2021 Yukon Denali Issues

Here is a list of issues I have so far. Just curious if anyone else has had them. I am just under 2,000 miles.

1) third row headrest would not stay up.

2) Speed limits are shown as two dashed lines on most non-major roads where I live (suburban NH)

3) Hands free trunk works intermittently. Sometimes does not respond to foot.

4) Backup sensors vibrate the seat and show red as car is backing up for the front area even when nothing is there

5) The starter continued to spin without the car starting several times. After getting out of the car, locking and unlocking it, it started working again

6) Lost connection to OnStar and wifi hotspot. Called OnStar on my cell and their signal could not reach the car. Had to disconnect and reconnect the battery for it to start working.

Hey @Andypine34! Sorry to hear about the issues you're dealing with.

  • So the headrest isn't locking in when someone tries to raise it?
  • Have you tried going into the center screen to enable the speed limits or turn them on/off?
  • For the sensors is there any dirt blocking them or anything? sometimes that can confuse them in my experience
@Andypine34 if dirt isn't causing these problems with the sensors, then I would suggest speaking with your dealer on potential Technical Service Bulletins (TSB's) that point out actual problems with them.
Sensors can act up or go at any time. Even on brand new cars.

Yeah it's crazy how finicky they can be sometimes.

Number 3. Happens constantly and it's annoying.
Connected one-day old diesel Yukon to 3 year old trailer physically and electrically. when I locked the Yukon, the trailer brake/turn signal lights flicker. The lights are LEDs. I’m wondering if there’s not a monitoring current for the trailer theft protection that sets off the vehicle alarm if you disconnect trailer wire.

I'm just over 4,000 miles.
I have the reverse sensor issue as well. Mine constantly says someone is walking behind me when there is no one there.

My seats don't go down all the time with the push of the button. I have to push up and down until it wants to work.

Other issues I'm seeing are electrical issues I've read many people are also having. Error messages, seat belt sensors (when everyone is wearing them), left side speakers not working.

Past few days my car didn't want to shut off. It was a hard thing to figure out considering the car is completely computerized and it only shuts off with a button. Today it doesn't want to start. It's ridiculous.

My sun shade for my sun roof also doesn't want to close completely. I've had it fixed once already. They claimed it was a programming issue.

1 morning I woke up to all my windows being down. Thankfully no one broke into my car. My home cameras showed the alarm just went off and windows rolled down for no reason

2021 YUKON XL Denali
Recently the left side speakers stop working.
Happened a couple times so far.
Not a lot of investigation about what could be causing it, but they do start working again next time I drive it.
I'll see if I can find a common action that kills the left side... but if anyone else has this or has any info please add it!!!

The windows will all go down if you hold the door unlock button on the key fob. was your fob stored underneath something?
