I'm really starting to second guess my purchase. This was my first new vehicle and I really only considered new because used prices were so high and basically the same as new (I got mine at MSRP). Anyway, I've got a seemingly growing list of issues with my vehicle and just 2k miles on it.

1. The new infotainment system is buggy as all get out. At random times (happened a few times now) it will get confused and the volume up/down only controls navigation volume. My audio will be completely stuck at whatever volume level it was at and turning it up or down only shows "navigation volume" on screen which of course does nothing since I'm not using navigation. I did discover though that the trick is to turn on the navigation and when it's reading one of the turn-by-turn directions aloud, then try to turn the volume down. It will adjust "audio" while nav is speaking and adjust "navigation" while nav isn't speaking. smh. I usually just turn the radio off until I can stop the vehicle and restart.

Also... Google News app doesn't work at all. I have no idea how it's supposed to work. Not a single person I've spoken with at the dealer or with Chevy support seems to know (do they not train people on new model functionality or something?). It's not that I need Google News app to work... it's just that it should work... I mean, it's there. I want it to work. Anyone have any idea how to show data for the Google News app? I'm signed in with my Google account and have some stories showing on Google News when I browse on the web. So I figure it should show on the infotainment system.

2. I always keep my headlights in "auto" mode. I'm pretty sure the sensor must have an issue because since the day I bought it, my headlights stay on full time. Well... not counting the other day when I was driving early in the morning when it was overcast (you know, one of those days when the lights SHOULD be on) and they weren't on.

I also noticed that the orange indicator light on the headlight knob wasn't on for a day or so but at the same time I noticed when the orange indicator light (signifying it's set to auto) wasn't on, my headlights also weren't on. Is the orange indicator light only illuminated when the headlights are actually on? Or should that orange light be on full time regardless of headlight situation? Feels like the orange indicator should just be on regardless.

3. The rear cargo gate seems faulty but only after the vehicle has sat overlight or an extended period. If I go out and load it after it's sat over night, the gate 9/10 times won't open by pressing the button on the lift gate. It will make the noise like it's going to open and it will pop open a quarter inch or so, but never lift. In my testing, the lift gate seems to always work if I'm pressing the button on the key fob or the interior button overhead.

4. Steering wheel console cover (no idea what the official name is) loose. This is the plastic piece where the steering wheel adjustment button sits. I can move it up and down kind of like it's not secured completely.

5. All weather cargo mats from Chevy is garbage. Comes with crappy velcro that hasn't stuck since day one. There's mat piece and then two pieces that stick to the back of the third row seats for when they fold down. Those are always coming off. I recently purchased different pieces of velcro with adhesive from amazon to try to solve the issue, but when you pay what Chevy charges for accessories, you expect it to work.

6. Minor paint issues? When I hand washed my Tahoe for the first time, I noticed a few small paint blemishes. One is what appears to be a small cut right along the top of the rubber window seal. I'm going to show the dealer but when I asked about it their response was "well we do a walk around before you buy" lol. I know we did a walk around, but do you expect me to look at every nook and cranny with a magnifying glass? I only saw this after hand washing and getting up close and personal with every inch. Evidently they can touch it up according to my sales rep though.

Overall I love the look of the vehicle, but I've got to be honest that most of the interior just feels cheaply made. Some of the buttons don't have that tactile click you'd expect. Some panels are flimsy to press. I honestly can't believe that for a $65k vehicle, it's made this like. First Chevy and probably my last at this point. I'm honestly considering trading it in for something else entirely. Someone talk me off the ledge. lol

I had the same headlight problem on my new tahoe and it is a faulty sensor. I can find my repair ticket if you need to know exactly what sensor. Its hard for the dealer to diagnose for some reason
If you can find it, that would be fantastic. Thanks. I'm sure the dealer will give me the run around because that seems to be what they like to do.

Yes apparently this is a bit of a known issue. The headlights are not supposed to be on- only the DRLs during the day. I took mine to the dealer and they also said they could find no problem, but luckily one of the techs was sharp and they took the car outside for testing. Then they found the issue- which was something called an ambient light sensor. This problem cannot be found by trying to diagnose the vehicle inside the bay it seems. Good luck, let me know if this helps.
