UPDATE- there is a faulty sensor that needs replacement. Known issue
Same exact issue here on a 2022 Tahoe Z71. Took it to the dealer and they stated they couldn’t find anything wrong. Yet, all the 2021/2022 Yukons, Yukons XL, Suburbans and Tahoes I see on the road only have the running lights on during the day.I have a 2022 Tahoe and the headlights are on about 90% of the time even when the selector is set to auto. Bright sun and they are on- interior gauge lights and infotainment brightness functioning normally. Anyone one else having this issue? suggestions?
Yes apparently this is a bit of a known issue. The headlights are not supposed to be on- only the DRLs during the day. I took mine to the dealer and they also said they could find no problem, but luckily one of the techs was sharp and they took the car outside for testing. Then they found the issue- which was something called an ambient light sensor. This problem cannot be found by trying to diagnose the vehicle inside the bay it seems. Good luck, let me know if this helps.Same exact issue here on a 2022 Tahoe Z71. Took it to the dealer and they stated they couldn’t find anything wrong.
