A 2021 Escalde Prototype was seen with blue badges and GM Authority found out why. Apparently it was covered in blue tape as a way to slightly camouflage the emblem.
According to GM Authority sources familiar with the development of the fifth-generation Cadillac Escalade, the blue Cadillac crest was simply a regular badge that had been covered with some blue tape. At the time these photos were taken, the 2021 Escalade had not been officially revealed, so the engineers decided to apply some mild camouflage to the vehicle’s emblem in the form blue tape, covering over small sections of the multi-colored Cadillac badge.
It’s worth noting the 2021 Cadillac Escalade will be offered with monochromatic badges thanks to the Onyx Package. This appearance package will also add a gloss black Escalade nameplate and 22-inch, 12-spoke High Gloss Black finish alloy wheels to the full-size luxury SUV.
