My 6.2 HC Tahoe has been in the shop for over a month now. Rented another 2021 Tahoe and have reamed GM to no end. They are covering all rental expenses and the engine is being fully replaced with a new one. They say it will be ready next week for me to drive. Stay on GM's ass and send them messages incessantly. I finally got a senior account rep that has been helpful. I am also requesting a manufacturers warranty to be extended to 100k miles with the new engine. Best of luck to you. It is a huge pain in the ass... If you have questions about how I've handled this them let me know.

Keep us updated!

We recently took our yukon at4 for a trip and when we were driving around the check engine light came on. It said ESC needed service, ABS and trailer brake needed service. I was like WTF this has to be a glitch. Went to the dealership and they checked the codes and guy was like oh the code cleared itself. He turned it back on and check engine was gone. Drove it home and everything was fine lol

Will do. I had all the same symptoms occur but the engine was misfiring and rough idling. Hopefully yours was a fluke. Initially they replaced the fuel injector and told me the problem had been fixed. Upon getting in the truck to drive it home all the same lights came on and the exhaust started smoking lol. Been a very frustrating experience but I am hopeful the new engine will put an end to this nightmare.

Yukon XL Denali... at 6,100 MI out running errands the engine starts knocking with rough idle then check engine light comes on. Code says ECM, but after calling dealer they say it sounds like a lifter issue. Estimates a 2 - 3 day turn around... but after reading this thread I'm thinking it might be much longer.

The lifter and head gaskets are on back order, right now for a few more days.
Make sure they replace all the lifters or you will right back in the dealer ship soon to fix the other ones.

Update on my situation:

Finally got the truck back about 2 weeks ago. GM Corporate replaced the entire engine after my non stop complaints and badgering. Truck has been running well. I am trying to get them to push the manufacturers warranty out. Hopefully they will do this and hopefully no more issues! They are also in the process of reimbursing me the 5k+ for my rental which I just sent them the bill for. Hate hearing that more people are having issues. Just had a friend who has an AT4 go out last week on Friday... Lifters....

You will be extremely lucky if it is a 2-3 day turnaround. I'd start investigating a rental and also start a text conversation with GM Corporate to get the ball rolling.

It got completed in 3 days. Replaced half of the lifters. Would love to get compted 100k extended warranty!

Anyone else have issues with their engine? After 3,000 miles my check engine light came on and the whole
car / engine started to rattle and putter. Car was at GMC for 5 weeks. They said they replaced the lifters and something
with the fuel. Just wondering if this will be an ongoing issue.
Hello!

I have 27,000 miles on my 2021 Yukon Denali 6.2 and the lifters just went out-sounded like I was driving my old Mercury Monterey! lol The bulletin for repair said that they are to replace both sides of the lifters. Something also about the fuel pump I think. They're having to do that, as well. The car has been at the dealership for a week now because they had to order parts and should be ready tomorrow. I noticed that after my last service, the car sounded like an old car with those lifters going out (and same sputtering and rattle you described). Surely that couldn't be it with a 1.5 year new luxury vehicle!! So, when it really failed, the engine light was blinking nonstop, traction control light came on and another code, then a car-crash light top left of the panel, and the car was sputtering to the point I didn't think I'd make it the mile home. I had it towed to the dealership (here in Los Gatos, California). Also, my speakers just don't work right. SO disappointing since I am very sensitive to my sound system! My 2003 Denali's sound system is a dream compared to this. I have them checking it out also. I have had a variety of issues from the radio not turning off for 10+ minutes after I've left the car; the rear latch foot thing has never worked. I'm also irritated that the front driver visor has been cut short compared to the 2003 model I have - where it blocks that 2-3 inches of blaring sunlight...my 2003 also had a second visor behind the first so that you can use both if needed, which I used a lot, since I drive mountainous roads every day. They also gave up the foot pedal adjuster for us ladies. The internal fabric is easy to stain (visors) and door panels (I have the light interior.) I have to really stay on top of it to keep it clean. There have been repeated issues that correct sometimes with a restart, but we shouldn't have to be doing this. For $95K, this should be near flawless! On another topic - I did tow a travel trailer with it over Christmas - only 4 hours each direction - and it towed well. I use a sway bar and the weigh distribution bars, so it feels like the trailer is part of the car. I like the trailer checklist pre-takeoff. I'm just irritated that there have to be SO many electrical system updates. Oh, also, sometimes the front wiper wipes at startup (just once) when I have the wipers OFF.

2021 Tahoe 22000 miles engine light flashing
Service traction control code and service esc code. At the dealer right now they said its lifters but can only fix affected side 😒 why wouldn't they just replace all lifters. Going on a trip in a for the 4th now I'm scared to drive it far. What to do?

Dealer said they will replace the affected side but not both sides
How's your car since getting fixed, my tahoe is currently getting lifters fixed but also only affected side. But I'm scared that's its only a matter of time before the other side needs to be fixed.
