Hello,
I am new here, so I apologize if this was already asked and answered. Iam the current owner of a 2017 Tahoe. My current lease is about to end and I am in the process of buying a 2021 Suburban Z71. I noticed that all the local dealers in Southern California (and even Northern California) only have 2021 Suburban and Tahoes with the High Country trim with the optional rear seat media system. I know this is an available option on the LT and above.

The rear seat media system was a common option on LT and above models. They were very abundant on the dealer lots.

My question is, will the lower in trim levels start having this optional equipment as production ramps up? Also can the dealer add and install the oem rear seat media system? Would it require too much labor to even be worth it?

Btw, I am not interested in an aftermarket system. I have had those before. Thank you and i appreciate any feedback.

Looks like it can be ordered on everything but a Premier at the moment. We ordered an LT Suburban with rear entertainment at the beginning of September. It was built this week and is on the way to the dealer. We saw and RST Suburban with the same build at another local dealer. They gave me $2k in accessories on top of my supplier price and Costco discount. Needless to say there’s an LT with rear entertainment coming into Cary NC up for grabs.

I don’t think the new units can be added after the fact. You may be able to add the headrest monitors like in a Silverado.
