I was concerned reading about this on my 2021 Tahoe ( I have serious mold allergies) so I opened my sunroof, stood through it, and poured bottled water into the 4 corners of the drain 'gutter' around the opening (one at a time) and confirmed that the water drained out to under vehicle completely each individual time. I've noticed mine was built the first week of December 2020, so I'm assuming issues have been corrected over time (I hope).

Curious to see what came of your issue. Did they replace your vehicle due to water damage? I, too, had water come in from the sunroof on my 2021 Tahoe. Started 2 mos ago and water poured in through the roof console (where sunroof controls are), then through the rear passenger dome lights. Noticed water streaks on the front door jams. Could hear water sloshing above cabin. Put in shop for 3-4 weeks where the removed headliner, had to replace the sunroof and ultimately the motor in the sunroof cover after it was damaged by water. Morning after getting it back, when I cranked it, I had no electronics-no backup camera, no touch screen, no radio, no driver command center (in dash behind steering wheel)--all blank-non operational. Took it back but with holidays, no one was available to determine what they were going to do. Picked it back up & have had the electronic failure twice since. I fear it will never end--who knows how much water went into the dash or could have affected the control panels/computers. I, too, have asked for GM to replace it. Back in shop now & they are working toward that but GM doing every conceivable test, diagnosis to keep from having to replace. Thankfully, the dealership owner is involved and advocating on my behalf. What a mess.
I just took it in yesterday. The dealer water tested it and discovered that it is leaking but they are trying to determine where it is leaking. I will keep you posted.

The dealership called the the same day and advised the driver side sunroof drain tube wasn't properly installed at the factory and therefore each time it rained water was coming into the cabin at the 3rd row floorboard.
Dealership has given me a 2021 Tahoe loaner and stayed the carpeting would be replaced under warranty. I have a case # opened with GM corporate to see if they'd repurchase vehicle since it basically has water damage (and for future wiring after warranty). Tahoe costed $85,000 and only has 3,800 miles😵😵😵Haven't heard back yet. Anyone have a corporate contact???

Bought my 2021 Denali on Dec 5th and noticed water sitting in drivers side floorboard Jan 1st. Thankful for my weathertech mats I was able to see the water without it soaking in the carpeted mats. Called the dealership the following day (Jan.2nd) and they said to bring it in. I stupidly went through the car wash before dropping it off and noticed the water coming out of the corner front dash and where the fuse plugs in. Showed the dealer when I dropped it off. I’m in a loaner and they’ve had it for almost 3 weeks now. They can’t figure out where the leak is coming from. Got a call today saying someone is coming out from GM to look over it. She did tell me they got a bulletin from GM about extending the drains from the sunroofs. I know this water has been through all the electrical in the dash and I’m not willing to pay over $80k and have it less than a month for these issues. I plan on asking for a new vehicle once I go in next week to see what GM has seen on my car. I also have pictures that I feel will show this wasn’t the first time this happened, however I didn’t notice with the cloth mats as I think it soaked the water up.

Did anyone get this fixed? I have 2 days with my Tahoe and noticed a leak from the top sunroof controllers. It rained yesterday and that is why I noticed. I dropped off the Tahoe today at the dealership. It's ridiculous that it was so expensive, yet defective right out of the factory.

Just bought my 21 suburban in October of 2020 live in NEPA lots of rain and snow since we’ve owned it never had a problem. This past Wednesday it rained all day and wouldn’t you know water started poured out of the onstar button, over head lights in the second row, seat belt holders and out of bottom of dash. Called dealer and he said samething you guys are reporting “sunroof drains are blocked simple fix”
So I have an appointment at dealer this coming Wednesday but in the interim I decided to blow them out myself which I did.
Then it rained again on Friday and wouldn‘t you know water started pouring out of same areas again. I am so outraged after spending over $72,000 on a car and this is the nonsense I’m dealing with.

They haven’t given me a definitive answer yet. We haven’t had much rain since this happened last. We should be getting some rain next week so I’ll keep you posted. If we don’t get any rain I may try and soak it with a water hose to try to recreate it (something they should have done instead of just blowing air in the drain tubes). I really don’t want to get water in there again but I’d rather find the issue now rather than later.
This is a known issue with 2021 Yukon's and Tahoe's. The drain tubes were not installed properly from the factory. RECALL ITEM as of June 2021. Your dealer will need to install longer drainage tubing throughout the car. My dealer informed me that this is a NEW issue and that GM has just located a supplier to assist. The part has to be ordered and may take time to receive. In the meantime my '21 Yukon has been sitting at the dealer for 2 weeks. Thankfully they gave me a nice loaner car. Good luck.

Has anyone had a successful repair yet?????

Our 2021 Suburban (purchased in March) has had major water leak issues. We have had large amounts of water in the headliner and wet floors every time we get a steady rain...not just drips.....water pouring out of the lights, over head buttons/control, seatbelt opening, soaking through the headliner EVERYWHERE!!! The only place we didn't notice water leaking was our sunroof. We have had it in the shop twice. This second time they identified a crushed sunroof drain which they say has fixed the headliner issue (we shall see),and a bad seam where water was filling up the passenger side A Pillar (?). When they did the last water leak test they are still getting water in the floorboard up front . I wonder if its the tubing???? We are beyond frustrated!!!!! I hope GM gets this mess figured out!!!!

Bought a Certified pre owned 2021 Chevy Tahoe Premier four weeks ago. It started with problems with the tailgate not opening with any of the buttons or fob about a week later. Didn’t realize at first it was only after it rained. Went away for a weekend where we got the truck fairly dirty with mud on the Chevy plastic mats. So I pulled the mats to clean them and found a puddle under the driver side wet all the way under the dash on carpet. I brought to dealership and they said they had never heard of it and would have to do a water test. They did order me a new rug. From seeing all your post it sounds like you have all experienced the same issue wondering if any one has had this fully fixed and would love an updated post from those on here. Now I did some searching on my own and found it’s was coming from column to the left of steering wheel, right on top of fuse panel. Which I believe is what is causing my tailgate not to work. Any suggestions on how to move on with dealer to make sure this is remedied, and nit have to worry about mold and constant leaking would be very helpful. Or also how to start lemon law process if any went that route. Thank You Alan

We just purchased a new 2021 with 2 miles on it. Found a wet floor at driver seat while installing new Chevy mats. Dried it out and found soaked 2 days later. On 16th day of owning it, our first ever tahoe was brought into the dealership. Thought it was door seals, then another tahoe owner brought his in for same problem after replacing his door seals. It’s been 1 week and no answers other than guesses. Mean while we are stuck with a traverse as a loaner. Such BS.

Do you have sunroof? Have them check drain lines from sunroof channel to front firewall. Mine today was just found disconnected after they pull my carpet. Chevy dealership will be replacing my whole carpet. I’m also having issues with tailgate which I believe stems from water leaking from drain connection on to my fuse block which is underneath. This only happened when it rained and got water on driver side.

It's basically a soonroof drainage problem. Dealership said they are not being correctly connected at the factory. They had my Tahoe for about 2 weeks. I have not had any problems since and it has rained about 2 more times, plus multiple car washes. They fixed mine approximately 5 months ago. Do call GM and report your incident just in case something stops working later because of water damage.

Hey so we got our 2021 Chevy Tahoe LT in November 2020 and we have had a leak only on the passenger side front. Could this be part of the issue? I took it in last month and they checked and blew out the tubes or something and said all good but apparently it is not. This is not ok for the price of these vehicles.
