Did you get anywhere with this or a solution to the water leak? We just bought our 2021 and our drivers side floor board is completely soaked. Sat at dealership for 9 days and they couldn't find anything wrong so they sent us on our way.
Curious to see what came of your issue. Did they replace your vehicle due to water damage? I, too, had water come in from the sunroof on my 2021 Tahoe. Started 2 mos ago and water poured in through the roof console (where sunroof controls are), then through the rear passenger dome lights. Noticed water streaks on the front door jams. Could hear water sloshing above cabin. Put in shop for 3-4 weeks where the removed headliner, had to replace the sunroof and ultimately the motor in the sunroof cover after it was damaged by water. Morning after getting it back, when I cranked it, I had no electronics-no backup camera, no touch screen, no radio, no driver command center (in dash behind steering wheel)--all blank-non operational. Took it back but with holidays, no one was available to determine what they were going to do. Picked it back up & have had the electronic failure twice since. I fear it will never end--who knows how much water went into the dash or could have affected the control panels/computers. I, too, have asked for GM to replace it. Back in shop now & they are working toward that but GM doing every conceivable test, diagnosis to keep from having to replace. Thankfully, the dealership owner is involved and advocating on my behalf. What a mess.
Same - did you get any resolution? This sounds exactly like what happened to me. My truck is still at the shop on its second go round for the leak. Its been there for 10 days now.
They are stalling you. My son's 2021 Tahoe leaked through the sunroof down into the drivers side floor pan under the carpet and now has mold. The dealer stated the drain tube was leaking. They took his apart and changed the carpet and fixed the drain but didn't get the mold taken care of. It's a defect not cloggedI have taken mine twice within a week and have gotten no answers. Just bring it back if it happens again. Super frustrating
I have a 2022 Denali, exact same issues, have several videos of water streaming out of same area, been to dealer 4 times, first 3 times they gave different answers and said it was fixed, 4th time d alert now states can't find leak and moth ng they can do unless they can see leak happening, have other ongoing issues too, did you ever get a resolution??Bought my 2021 Denali on Dec 5th and noticed water sitting in drivers side floorboard Jan 1st. Thankful for my weathertech mats I was able to see the water without it soaking in the carpeted mats. Called the dealership the following day (Jan.2nd) and they said to bring it in. I stupidly went through the car wash before dropping it off and noticed the water coming out of the corner front dash and where the fuse plugs in. Showed the dealer when I dropped it off. I’m in a loaner and they’ve had it for almost 3 weeks now. They can’t figure out where the leak is coming from. Got a call today saying someone is coming out from GM to look over it. She did tell me they got a bulletin from GM about extending the drains from the sunroofs. I know this water has been through all the electrical in the dash and I’m not willing to pay over $80k and have it less than a month for these issues. I plan on asking for a new vehicle once I go in next week to see what GM has seen on my car. I also have pictures that I feel will show this wasn’t the first time this happened, however I didn’t notice with the cloth mats as I think it soaked the water up. View attachment 299
Just bought my 2021 Tahoe premier 3 weeks ago. We test drove it and fell in love with it. A week later we noticed rain water coming out of the seat belt housings on the pillars of both the front and second row passengers. We could also hear the sound of water sloshing around over head. I just brought it into the dealer this morning for them to investigate the leak when they notified me of a engine oil cooler line recall. Apparently this can cause catastrophic engine failure.
They said that they inspected the oil cooler lines and they’re ok. When I asked about the water leak they said that they blew air down the drain tubes in the sunroof. They said that sometimes they can become clogged or pinched and they look like they are draining properly. They then said that if it happens again then I need to bring it back and they’ll have to drop the headliner and inspect it.
I have a feeling I’ll be back.
Here is the link for the recall they found:
